Tuo Tasting 2 Nelson Bay NZ Top Sauvignon Blanc
These two wines are my tiptop fave Sauvignons and both from the Seigfried winery Nelson Bay NZ!! Let’s see how they make out ..
Split Rock 12.5% all chalk and lemon punch
Nelson Bay 13% limestone and zesty lime!
I try 4 contrasting glasses - which works best for NZ SB? Also see my glasses review video below (I receive free crystal glasses each year as a customer of Laithwaites wine club
I have found the shape, particularly the bottom of the glass DOES make a HUGE difference in tasting wine, although there is no definitive one-size-fits-all glass (a solid metaphor for life)

Tuo Tasting from my Warwickshire October wine event
Tall Gum Reserve Sauvignon Blanc from Australia 11.5% from Virgin Wines
Lobster Shack Chardonnay Viognier Chenin Blanc 13.5% from Laithwaites
Two powerfully refreshing whites from the deep south! How do they compare? What does the extra 2% alcohol represent? Seasonal or year round go-to wines? I explore all this and more in today’s video review
Pour yourself a glass of some cool liquid and enjoy! Thanks for looking in - daily aspects, reviews, interviews, tips & discounts all week all year from Britain’s breeziest wine blog :)
Today I explore some classic popular wine glass shapes
Of course you can drink from a goblet or a ceramic mug but I share my favourite wine glasses here - I also use a whisky tumbler for full bodied lush reds and a small sturdy stemmed glass for madeira - who recalls the old popular hotel sherry schooners? :)
So wine glasses are prone to fashion and the latest include grape variety shapes, universal glasses and open lipped (featured) - or you may have some bowl crystal heirlooms from the 1800s where elegance always triumphed over functionality
No rights or wrongs here, go with the room ambience and your mood
When trying to impress friends you always pull the whammy by being nonchalant and completely natural - the biggest compliment you can pay anyone is to not bother
Enjoy!!
Something a little different for fans of Sauvignon Blanc!
Moldova Cabernet de Blanc - white wine pressed from Cabernet Sauvignon which is itself the progeny of a cross between Sauvignon Blanc and Cabernet Franc
Sunday Special White & Rosé Tuo Tasting
Two rather contrasting wines today! Tesco Por do Sol 10% a nostalgic bargain at £4.75 and Laithwaites remarkable Albastrele label Blanc de Cabernet 13% from Moldova 2021
See how glamourous and refreshing these two can be in late October! Enjoy my video review with your evening glass or two ;)
